摘要:The Ba sentence is unique existence in Chinese. There is no corresponding sentence pattern in English. Thus, the translation of Ba sentences is a challenge for translators. Even with the myriad analyses on the translation of Ba sentences, small quantity of them demonstrates the correctness and the reading effect of the translation by using a specific theory. And the image schema theory reflects the projects between the source domain and the target domain, while in the translation analysis there are schemata in the source language and the target language. So the paper does comparisons of schemata between the source text and the target text of Ba sentences, which are chosen from the English translation of Words of Fire—Poems by Jidi Majia translated by Denis Mair. After the demonstration, the following conclusions are found: First, the schema of the sentence is decided by verbs of the Ba sentences, rather than by the sentence structures;second, the image schema is a feasible tool to check correctness of Ba sentences translation.
摘要:A Passage to India is a representative novel by E. M. Forster. His insightful exploration of the relationship between Britain and the colony India in early 20th century guarantees it a seat among the classics of the world’s colonist literature. E. M. Forster’s ideas in A Passage to India exhibit many affinities with Edward Said’s thoughts in his Orientalism. This paper, therefore, aims to offer an interpretation of A Passage to India by using Said’s philosophy of the Orientalism as the theoretical framework. Due to Forster’s dual consciousness revealed in the novel, this paper will focus on two aspects, namely, the reflection of his colonialist ideology and his anti-colonial humanistic sense.
摘要:Aiming to promote overseas acceptance level of the domestic English version of Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen on the premise of preserving the cultural characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), this paper made a comparative analysis of different translations of Chinese character "和"(he) in three English versions of Su Wen, based on the discourse theory of "global localization". The analysis reveals that Li’s translation uses the strategy of transliteration plus interpretation to preserve the original Chinese classic’s style, thinking, and ideas, but the effect is not satisfactory. Veith’s free translation enables overseas readers to understand the content relatively easily, but fails to convey the rich TCM cultural connotation. Unschuld’s translation strictly follows the principles of linguistics in order to reflect the original thinking and idea to the utmost extent, and at the same time takes into account the expressions commonly used by the readers of English-speaking countries. That’s the reason why his translation enjoys the greatest popularity among professionals and the general public alike overseas. It is also clear from the analysis that different social historical contexts in which Su Wen was translated and each translator’s subjectivity determine translation’s target audiences, purposes, and ultimately translation strategies. Therefore, in order to speed up the "going out" of TCM culture, domestic translators are suggested to determine target audience and translation purpose in the first place, and study overseas readers’ knowledge background, information needs, reading habits, and value orientation before deciding the translation strategies.
摘要:This article proposes a new hypothesis about Nietzsche’s life and thought. It suggests that the repression of his homosexuality explains both his hatred of Christianity and his descent into insanity. His Biblical religiosity was a fundamental aspect of his essential self, like his homosexuality. He waged a relentless war against both. Yet one cannot be in a permanent battle with oneself without eventually becoming insane.

摘要:Intercultures play a crucial role in localization of translation. They are the essential reference resources for those who are translators as well as writers in their literary translation or creation. Translators contribute to the extension of source culture and in target culture by means of intercultures to form new localized cultural paradigms, which help writers to improve their creations. Liang Qichao’s literary creation was influenced by the literary paradigms he translated. Through the translation, he borrowed new literary paradigms from foreign languages and converted them into more acceptable ones in his literature. The paper, from the perspectives of localization and intercultures by Anthony Pym, analyzes the characteristics and interactions between Liang Qichao’s literary translation and literary creation.

This study has important reference value for pre-service foreign language teacher education.

摘要:With the development of new media, an important dimension of contemporary calligraphy has been highlighted, namely the body. One of the most intriguing phenomena of the body is the video of some calligraphy creations on the Internet. The exaggerated body movements and performances have caused heated discussion among the calligraphy circles and many netizens. However, the critics still lack deep and comprehensive thinking about the problems related to the body in calligraphy. We believe that the physical dimension of calligraphy refers to the appearance of the body in the practice of calligraphy in three ways: experience, imagery, and performance. Through the consideration of the body dimension of calligraphy, this article tries to put forward the general criticism of the calligraphy works and the creative practice of physical phenomena. It should be divided into the following parts. One of them is that this kind of physical phenomenon expresses the spirit of the times and expresses the individual "feeling";"sorrow and joy" is helpful;the second is the merits and demerits of the work itself, and the third is the relationship between the generation of the work and the body and the degree of harmony.
